Based in Accra, Ghana for the past two years, Tala serves as SIA’s West Africa Associate. She manages SIA’s regional office in Accra where she focuses on business development in the region, research and analysis, program management and implementation as well as operations. She has contributed to SIA’s work in mobile money agent quality management, digital financial services for agriculture, women’s financial inclusion and digitizing operational and programmatic payment streams.
She previously worked for the Center for Middle East Development, organizing international conferences about regional security, politics and social issues involving politicians, diplomats, journalists and think tank experts from across the region. She has also worked for a political accountability non-profit in Accra, where she organized forums between local governmental organizations and their citizens and conducted household surveys to determine poverty levels.
She holds a dual B.A. in International Development and African and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles.
