Tala serves as SIA’s Program Associate, focusing on administrative duties and research. She is the Operations Manager for SIA's Agent Quality Management project with the World Bank and is based in Accra, Ghana.
Tala is a recent graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in International Development and African and Middle Eastern Studies. She spent her junior year studying abroad in Ghana, where she organized forums between local governmental organizations and their citizens and conducted household surveys to determine poverty levels for a political accountability non-profit.
She previously worked for UCLA’s Center for Middle East Development, organizing international conferences about Middle East regional security, politics and social issues involving politicians, diplomats, journalists and think tank experts from across the region. She brings extensive experience in print publication and working with graphic designers to produce marketing materials from her time as Communications Assistant for UCLA’s International Institute. Tala also brings editorial, writing and research experience from her time leading a team of 15 graduate and undergraduate student editors and writers at UCLA’s foreign affairs journal.
